Excess back fat can be embarrassing, but it’s not a true indication that you’re overweight. In fact, there are more overweight people with back rolls than those with toned, fat free backs. The problem lies in your diet, not your back.
Many people with excess back fat think that it must be related to obesity. While it could genuinely impact your weight, the biggest reason is because of an unhealthy diet.
Unfortunately, no matter how much you exercise your back or how many pounds less is on your body because the diet is worse than the exercise in terms of calories. In short, make sure you’re careful about your back fat, but don’t think that it’s because you’re fat as a result of the excess weight.
Furthermore, since your back fat is generally distributed, you will first see the flab on your chest and arms. When the fat from one of your places hit’s the other, it doesn’t fall equally on both the upper body and lower body.
No matter how much working out you do, this region won’t firm up until developing strong muscle tissue to support the muscle you have there. So the key to losing back fat is not one more sit up, but one more push up or set of push ups.
The purists will tell you to keep away from back exercises altogether, because they disrupt the machine’s core. The truth is that by keeping your back straight and pulling through your spine against resistance, you’re actually forcing the fat out from your back and into your arms and chest instead.
Of course, one question will likely pop up if you’ve been working out extensively – are you just losing weight off your back or your chest and arms? For most people, the problem is far more widespread than this.
The good news is that the body has such a complicated system of itself, and that all exercise has a cumulative effect through muscle repair, fat depletion, etc, that you will see overall decreases in fat content much faster than the loss of pounds. However, there are some cases when your back fat goes beyond normal decreases that can be expected.
Normally, half of this fat will be removed from the chest and the remaining half from the arms. However you may find that your body is actually trimming down in the wrong places and even cutting some pounds off your chest and arms are not uncommon results.
The most common culprits are of course, fattier foods such as red meat or dairy foods which are usually extremely meaty. But the bad news is that even if you’re able to lose fat from your back, it’s still not accurate for the fact that no matter how much you lose them, they will eventually all come back.
The most accurate method to learning how to lose back fat is not to be overly optimistic in your expectations. If you don’t work harder than your body is able to lose them then forget about them, as there’s simply no way that they will ever go away for good.
