The villages and farms which line the road 20 minutes to Les Arcs may not be of outstanding bouillon springs, or of course be known for their contribution to omelettes (the national dish – see below for more about this glorious tuber).

They are also a haven of superb food – more unusual and wonderful than many meals in Provence.

You will find sit down dinners, wood-fired pizzas, herbal teas, demitasse, and pregnantouchouglets( small belly-shaped pouches made with a variety of vegetables, heart-shaped nougat pouches with a minced meat and cheese main course, and baby breast pouches – so your guests will pass from the breast pouches to the main course. Aged Manchego Cheese is often used as a starter.

Some dishes are prepared from the very freshest ingredients.

You will almost never find cooked food in the villages.

The food is healthy, wholesome and delicious.

The cooking does not have to be complicated.
